Once upon a time, in a forest like any other, there was an anthill. This anthill had ants in it, hard working ants. But they thought what they did was boring and uneventful.
One of the ants said “Man, this job is pretty boring… I wish we had something eventful going on.”
Another ant replied “Yeah, I get how ya feel. I feel the same way! If only we had a neighbor… one that would sing us songs… wouldn’t that be fun?”
The first ant said “If only, my brother, if only…”
Then one sunny summer evening a Cricket moved nearby a grassy field!
Exactly next to the ants!
The Ants’ wish had come true! Oh, joy of joys!
However this Cricket in particular was special. He was a talented singer!
This was an even bigger surprise for the ants!
”It’s a miracle!” The first ant exclaimed.
”Wow!! I never thought my wish would come true!” said the second ant.
Then the Cricket would sing all Spring, Summer and Autumn for the ants and anyone who wanted to hear his songs.
Then a tragedy happened… Winter came.
The Cricket didn’t have any food… the ants were worried.
Then the Ant Queen came with an idea!
She said “My fellow ants, our friend is in danger! If we do not do something he will starve!”
So the Ant Queen and the other ants invited the Cricket into the anthill.
The Ant Queen said to the Cricket “Hello Mr. Cricket. I am the Ant Queen. I would like to offer you some of our food.”
The Cricket asked “Why? All I’ve done is sing. Nothing more.”
The Ant Queen replied “You have made our lives bearable. Before you moved in it was a pain just to work! But now it is a joy! A wondrous joy to hear your songs and, not only that, but it also gives us courage. Courage to work. So please, we all are so grateful that you sing for us all Spring, Summer and Autumn. Please, Mr. Cricket, take this food as a token of gratitude.”
The Cricket was crying tears of joy, for he knew that someone was actually listening to his songs, and not only that, but he was helping someone, and that someone considers him important
The Cricket then said “Thank you… so much…”
The ants and the Cricket now live in peace.
The Cricket cheers the ants, and the ants work with more joy in their life.
THE END.
